Happiest Place in America....Sure!

A new study by the UK's University of Warwick and Hamilton College in the US revealed that Louisiana is the happiest place in America! What?! Really?!

The only reasoning I can find to sustansiate this claim is that people in Louisiana are so happy because they just don't know any better. :) Being a native Louisianaian, I feel I can speak truthfully to the issue.

My explanation for these results:

People in Louisiana do their due diligence in partaking of alcohol and hitting the crack rock. :) This behavior supports the claim that people in Louisiana perceive themselves as having a high quality of life, and therefore,  being the happiest people in the US.

What can we take from this?

Happiness comes from doing your due diligence to mask reality and to live in ignorance of your current situation. Unfortunately, I am pretty sure this is only applicable in Louisiana...

Oh, well...I guess I'm destined to be unhappy. :)

Here are the top 20 happiest states, according to this study:
Andrew Oswald/ Wu ranking of happiness levels by US State:
  1. Louisiana
  2. Hawaii
  3. Florida
  4. Tennessee
  5. Arizona
  6. Mississippi
  7. Montana
  8. South Carolina
  9. Alabama
  10. Maine
  11. Alaska
  12. North Carolina
  13. Wyoming
  14. Idaho
  15. South Dakota
  16. Texas
  17. Arkansas
  18. Vermont
  19. Georgia
  20. Oklahoma
Can we really trust that the researchers really did their due diligence when the results show Louisiana as #1 and Texas #16!! I mean, Florida & Hawaii I expected. But where is California, New York, and DC?
But, really, we all know that Alaskans are just happy because they can see Russia from their house!
